Carondelet House Wedding in Los Angeles // Maya and Collin don’t do anything halfway. When they envisioned their wedding, it wasn’t about tradition—it was about atmosphere. Moody. Textural. A little dark, a little goth, and pretty romantic. “Spooky romantic,” Maya called it. Think late October energy with depth: shadowy florals, fall harvest tones, and quiet nods to Día de los Muertos woven in with intention. At the Carondelet House, the warm wood beams and brick interiors felt like a European hideaway tucked into the city. It was the perfect old-world backdrop. The space held the mood beautifully with it’s intimate courtyards, candlelight, and florals in deep plums with layered branches and moss. Nothing felt overly styled. It felt lived-in and effortless.
What stood out most wasn’t the aesthetic—it was the clarity. Collin’s decision to step away from a conservative religious background meant some family didn’t attend. Rather than shrinking the day, it refined it. They walked in together. Their closest friends led the ceremony. “We placed our hands on each other’s chests and took each other in our power, pleasure, and pain,” they shared. The were rewriting the script into something that felt honest and embodied. No wedding party, no cake cutting, no performative moments. Just an intimate room of people who showed up fully. “We have no regrets,” they said. “We didn’t compromise.” And you could feel that freedom in every frame. Cool, grounded, easy, and unapologetically them.
