Wedding at Home during Covid-19 Pandemic // We’re living in a pretty crazy time, aren’t we? Historic actually. It’s really beautiful to see two people come together – amidst the chaos and despite circumstance – to marry each other.

Yu and Shane have family from across the world. Family members were supposed to arrive in Los Angeles in mid-March, but because the world began shutting down, travel was cancelled, and so was Yu & Shane’s intimate wedding. Even if the world had to come to a skidding stop, it wasn’t going to ward them off from committing their forevers together. Instead of cancelling their wedding altogether, they chose to have an elopement at their home in Los Angeles. It was perfect.

The thing about love is that… it wins. And although weddings may look different, it doesn’t mean they can’t be every bit as perfect. Honestly, the few covid-safe intimate weddings + elopements we’ve had this year feel different… I don’t mean because of safety precautions or social distancing or even masks (yes, please follow the guidelines!). I’m talking about authenticity, vulnerability and the weight of unwavering love that’s exposed when everything else is stripped away. Everything feels more intentional, more meaningful. When two people basically say, “Eff circumstance, I’m choosing you now and forever” as the world is falling apart, it’s really pretty powerful.

We feel for all those whose wedding plans have been affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. No matter how you choose to go forth with your wedding plans (whether you elope, hold a covid-safe intimate micro wedding, or you decide to postpone altogether), remember, as long as you have each other, it’s going to be perfect.
